Away’s New Expandable Suitcases Are Total Game Changers for Overpackers

You can spot Away’s luggage basically every time you go to the airport with its horizontal divots, millennial-friendly colors, and signature polycarbonate hard case. But they were kinda frustrating to use if you needed to expand your luggage to fit everything—hi, fellow overpackers!—until today. The brand just launched a new soft-sided style made out of durable woven nylon in four colors: black, green, navy, and asphalt. They’re also available in four different sizes.

Although they might not be the most exciting hues—especially compared to the brand’s fun collab with Flour Shop featuring a literal RAINBOW of colors—the subtle darker tones are made to go with any travel uniform and the designs are just as functional as the classic hard-sided ones. The new expandable line, which is available to purchase online and in-store, features the same combination lock, 360-degree spinner wheels, and removable laundry bag that you know and love. (Seriously, the built-in laundry bag is genius.) But just a quick FYI that they don’t come with the ejectable external battery. They DO have an easy-to-access front pocket though.

Each suitcase also comes with a pebbled leather luggage tag that you can personalize with foil stamping if you want to give off a jet-setter vibe the next time you roll up to the TSA security line. You can add up to three letters on it and choose from gold, silver, black, and white foil for $10 extra.

Basically, now that Away has a soft-sided style, you can say goodbye to all those times you sat on your suitcase and broke a sweat desperately trying to zip it shut. (Just me?)
